About
Founder & Managing Director
A senior finance and investment advisor with more than two decades at the intersection of venture capital, corporate strategy, and health care operations — advising founders, CEOs, and boards on the decisions that shape a company's trajectory.
Allison Robbins founded Green Shoots Consulting in 2011 to bring institutional-quality financial and strategic advisory to health care companies and investors. The practice combines her dual background as both a health care investor and operator — a rare combination that informs every engagement.
What has become the Tech Bio niche has been the through-line of her career for over two decades. Allison’s undergraduate work at Dartmouth combined Biochemistry and Economics with concentrated coursework in econometrics and statistics — building a dual foundation in molecular science and quantitative commercial reasoning. She continued at the intersection of biology and business during her time at Wharton, specializing her MBA in Health Care Management and Finance.
On the investment side, Allison has spent much of her career evaluating, structuring, and negotiating venture capital and licensing transactions on behalf of institutional investors. She has served as a consultant to Merck Global Health Innovation Fund since 2016. She also advises Tullis Health Investors and SV Health Investors on valuation and market research for their portfolio holdings, and previously served the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research, where she conducted diligence on more than fifteen early-stage venture investments. Earlier in her career, she completed venture investments and a $1B+ licensing transaction at Genzyme Ventures (now Sanofi), and began her career at Goldman Sachs and Paramount Capital.
On the operating side, Allison has served as fractional CFO or senior finance leader for four health care companies — Private Health Management, Avation Medical (where she sourced a key investor in the company’s $22M Series C), AMRA Medical, and Treasure Coast Medical Concierge (through spin-out and ultimate sale to MDVIP).
Her recent work with large pharma has centered on the commercial and research applications of real-world data (RWD) and modern analytics — including co-authorship of a white paper with Merck Global Health Innovation Fund and Merck & Co. on the emerging real-world evidence ecosystem. She has also run scouting programs for large pharma focused on AI for drug discovery, digital pathology/radiology, and New Approach Methodologies.
Across her investment and operating roles, Allison has been directly involved in more than $500 million of venture capital financings — as investor, advisor, and finance leader.
Every Green Shoots engagement is custom-built to the company, the stage, the team, and the moment. Allison serves as a senior thought partner to founders, CEOs, and boards — running the engagement end-to-end, coordinating across departments and outside advisors, and driving disparate stakeholders toward aligned decisions. She engages directly with the finance, commercial, operations, and clinical teams that inform each analysis, and translates their inputs into a coherent decision framework.
Each engagement begins with a structured discovery process to understand what decisions the work needs to support, what information is available, and what assumptions are defensible. What follows is rigorous analytical work — but the models and materials are just tools. The real product is a well-informed decision, delivered on time, backed by an analysis the client can defend and use.
